Air-Thun 2018 - Grumman TBM Avenger

Ein Torbedobomber im Berneroberland findet man eher selten. Anlässlich der Air-Thun, «verirrte» sich dieses einmotorige Ungetüm in den Alpen und landete auf dem Flugfeld hier in Thun. Es zeigte sich aber, dass der Besitzer ortskundig ist, und dass das Flugzeug eine schweizerische Matrikelnummer (HB-RDG) aufweist. Gott sei Dank führte der Pilot nur eine Attrappe eines Torpedos mit sich. Es hat ja genug Munition aus dem 2. Weltkrieg im Thunersee...

A Torbedobomber in the Bernese Oberland is rather rare. On the occasion of the Air-Thun event, this single-engined monster "lost its way" in the Alps and landed on the airfield here in Thun. Thankfully, the pilot carried only a dummy of a torpedo with him. It has enough ammunition from World War II in Lake Thun ...

Air-Thun 2018 - Dewoitine D-26

Die Dewoitine D-26 war ein in der Schweiz entwickelter Militärtrainer für die Schweizer Luftwaffe. Gebaut wurde sie im Jahr 1931 und war bis 1948 im Einsatz. Danach diente sie als Schleppflugzeug für Segelflugzeuge. Ab 1992 wurde sie aufwändig restauriert. Stationiert ist sie heute auf dem Flugplatz Grenchen. Insgesamt wurden 9 Stück von diesem Flugzeugtyp gebaut (Schweizerische Konstruktionswerkstätten K+W in Thun). Anlässlich der Air-Thun kehrten nun zwei Maschinen an ihren Ursprungsort zurück.

The Dewoitine D-26 was a military trainer for the Swiss Air Force. It was built in 1931 and was used until 1948. Then she served as a towplane for sailplanes. From 1992, it was extensively restored. Actually, she is now stationed at the Grenchen airfield.
