the swimming season is coming to an end. One last swim in the lake or pool, a
chance to enjoy the sun, and soak up the atmosphere. End of the season. See you

Before the
collection of rubber ducks and squeaky ducks goes into hibernation for the
winter, it has been expanded with a valuable collector’s item: the POTUS rubber
duck!

Avant que

hivernale, elle s'est enrichie d'une pièce de collection de grande valeur : le
canard en caoutchouc POTUS!
Die Pendelleuchte Patera wurde von Øivind Slaatto im Jahr
2015 entworfen. Sie ist eine moderne, alternative Interpretation eines
klassischen Kronleuchters. Ihre Form ist aus jedem Blickwinkel faszinierend.
Ihre Struktur soll auf der Fibonacci-Folge basieren.
The Patera
pendant light was designed by Øivind Slaatto in 2015. It is a modern,
alternative interpretation of a classic chandelier. Its shape is fascinating
from every angle. Its structure is said to be based on the Fibonacci sequence.
Langsam aber sicher kommt der Herbst. Und damit auch die
verschiedenen Herbstanlässe. Ein traditioneller Anlass ist der Spiezmärit am
Montag nach dem Läset-Sunntig, dem Winzerfest von Spiez. Schon ab 08:00 Uhr
sind mehr als 100 Marktstände bereit und bietet ihr Waren und Speisen an. Der Treffpunkt für Gäste, Einheimische.
Autumn is
slowly but surely approaching. And with it come the various autumn events. One
traditional event is the Spiez Market, held on the Monday following
‘Läset-Sunntig’, Spiez’s wine festival. From as early as 8.00 am, more than 100
market stalls are set up and offering their wares and food. It’s the place to be for visitors and locals
alike.
Es gibt einen preisgekrönten, ikonischen Weisswein in aus dem Chablais; «Aigle les Murailles». Auf der Etikette ist eine Eidechse abgebildet. Dadurch hat dieser Wein im Volksmund den Namen «Eidechsli Wy» (Eidechsen Wein) erhalten. Die Eidechse ist so zu einer Art Markenzeichen für diesen Wein geworden.
Kürzlich war ich unterwegs in der Gegend von Epesses. Dieses Gebiet ist ebenfalls bekannt für seine exzellente Weine. Vielleicht etwas weniger bekannt als der vorher erwähnte Wein. Da dieser Sommer sehr warm war, verzichteten wir auf gross Wanderungen und nutzten dafür die Eisenbahn und das Schiff um diese wundervolle Gegend am Genfersee zu erkunden. Unterwegs zum Bahnhof, durchquerten wir die Weinlage Calamin, bekannt für ihre Grand-Cru-Weine im Weinbaugebiet Lavaux.
Auf eine Mauer sonnte sich dort eine Eidechse. Sie liess sich auch nicht stören, als ich sie fotografierte. Zuhause beim Sichten meiner Ferienfotos fiel mir das Bild mit der Eidechse wieder auf. Ein nettes Sujet. Und sofort assoziierte ich das Bild mit dem Wein aus dem Chablais. Meine Schlussfolgerung:

Für den Weinliebhaber: Besuchen sie die Weinbaugebiete am Genfersee: Es lohnt sich.
There is an award-winning, iconic white wine from the Chablais region: ‘Aigle les Murailles’. The label features a lizard. As a result, this wine has come to be known colloquially as ‘Eidechsli Wy’ (lizard wine). The lizard has thus become a sort of trademark for this wine.
I was recently travelling in the Epesses area. This region is also renowned for its excellent wines, though perhaps not quite as well known as the wine mentioned earlier. As it was a very hot summer, we decided against long hikes and instead took the train and a boat to explore this wonderful area on Lake Geneva. On our way to the station, we passed through the Calamin vineyard, renowned for its Grand Cru wines in the Lavaux wine-growing region.
A lizard was warming itself in the sun on a wall there. It didn’t even flinch when I took its photo. Back home, whilst sorting through my holiday photos, the picture of the lizard caught my eye again. A lovely subject. And I immediately associated the picture with the wine from the Chablais. My conclusion:

Il existe un vin blanc iconique et primé du Chablais : « Aigle les Murailles ». L'étiquette représente un lézard. C'est ainsi que ce vin a reçu le surnom populaire d'« Eidechsli Wy » (vin du lézard). Le lézard est ainsi devenu une sorte d'emblème pour ce vin.
Récemment, je me suis rendu dans la région de Epesses. Cette région est également réputée pour ses excellents vins, bien que peut-être un peu moins connus que celui mentionné précédemment. Comme cet été a été très chaud, nous avons renoncé aux grandes randonnées et avons préféré prendre le train et le bateau pour explorer cette magnifique région au bord du lac Léman. En route vers la gare, nous avons traversé le vignoble du Calamin, réputé pour ses grands crus dans le vignoble de Lavaux.
Un lézard se prélassait au soleil sur un mur. Il ne s’est pas laissé déranger lorsque je l’ai photographié. De retour chez moi, en parcourant mes photos de vacances, cette image du lézard m’est revenue à l’esprit. Un joli sujet. Et j’ai immédiatement associé cette photo au vin du Chablais. Ma conclusion :

River Games Thun entwickelt. Da steckt viel Initiative und Arbeit dahinter. Ein
Merci an die Organisatoren! Für Kajaks wurde bei der Scherzligschleuse ein
spektakulärer Parcours aufgebaut. Kurz gesagt: Sehenswert!

initiative and hard work has gone into this. A big thank you to the organisers!
A spectacular course has been set up for kayaks at the Scherzlig lock. In
short: well worth seeing!
