Das Huhn oder das Ei? - The chicken or the egg?

Es ist dunkel, es ist kalt, es ist Winter. Licht bringt etwas Wärme in die langen dunklen Nächte. Doch manchmal verbreitet das verwendete Licht keine Wärme. Es wirkt kalt, ja manchmal sogar unfreundlich. Solche Situationen erinnern  mich an die Bilder von Edward Hopper. Da fragt man sich schon, was war zuerst? Die Bilder von Edward Hopper oder diese „Licht Installationen“?

It's dark, it's cold, it's winter. Light brings some warmth into the long dark nights. But sometimes the light used does not dissipate heat. It seems cold, sometimes even unfriendly. Such situations remind me of Edward Hopper's pictures. One wonders, what was first? The pictures of Edward Hopper or these "light installations"?
