Emtpy Shoppingcenter - Lost place?

In der Regel besuche ich Einkaufszentren an den Wochenenden oder nach der Arbeit. Und da hat es viel Leute; oft zu viele! Unter der Woche aber, sieht so ein Einkaufszentrum anders aus: Leer, öde ja sogar unheimlich.

Was zum Teufel solle diese kopfüber aufgehängten Blumen?

As a rule, I visit shopping centres on weekends or after work. And there are a lot of people; often too many! But during the week a shopping centre looks different: Empty, boring, even scary.

Parlamentswahlen - National elections

Alle 4 Jahren wählen die Schweizer Stimmbürger ihre Vertreter im Parlament. Der Wahlkampf ist voll im Gange. Die Kampagnen sind wie immer vielfältig. Von witzig/intelligen bis primitiv/dumm. Ein wichtige Thema ist die die Umwelt. Nun haben Witzbolde die Klimaweltverträglichkeit von Parteien und Politikern berechnet. Ob Parteien und Politiker per se umweltverträglich sind ist eine Frage für sich.  Andererseits frage ich mich die diese Umweltverträglichkeit gemessen/berechnet wird. Der dazugehörige Algorithmus habe ich bis heute nicht gefunden.

Every 4 years, Swiss voters elect their representatives in parliament. The election campaign is in progress. As always, the campaigns are manifold. From funny/intelligent to primitive/dumb. An important topic is the environment. Now pranksters have calculated the climate compatibility of parties and politicians. Whether parties and politicians are environmentally compatible per se is a question in itself.  On the other hand, I ask myself whether this environmental compatibility is measured or calculated. I haven't found the corresponding algorithm yet.

Ich hatte die einmalige Möglichkeit mit 19 Kollegen auf einem über 100 jährigen Segelschiff auf dem Ijsselmeer bzw. dem Wattenmeer zu segel. Segel setzen und Manöverieren erfolgt von Hand. Für ein über 100 t schweres Schiff nicht ganz ohne. Aber ein einmaliges Ereignis!

I had the unique opportunity to sail with 19 colleagues on a more than 100 year old sailing ship on the Ijsselmeer or the Wadden Sea. Setting sails and maneuvering is done by hand. For a ship over 100 tons heavy not completely without. But a unique event!
