Nachtaufnahme - night shot

Blühende Bäume sind etwas Schönes. Beim Fotografieren blühender Bäume stört aber oft die Umgebung. Ein interessanter Lösungsansatz ist die Nachtaufnahme. Auf die Idee bin ich gekommen als ich die Bilder des Industriefotografen O. Winston Link stiess. Seine Nachtaufnahmen von Dampflokomotiven sind legendär. Mittels Blitzlampen lichtete er diese rauchenden Ungetüme in voller Fahrt ab. An Stelle von Blitzlampen (kenne ich nur in Miniaturausführung von der Kodak Instamatic Kamera her) verwendete ich Blitzgeräte. Bei den Kameras (Digital EOS 5D sowie die analoge Konica T3) war der Verschluss auf B, die Blende auf 11 und die Empfindlichkeit auf ISO 100 eingestellt. Als Blitz verwendete ich einen Mecablitz 45 CL-4 (Manuell, volle Leistung). Nach dem der Verschluss der Kamera geöffnet war, blitzte ich den blühenden Kirschbaum von unten an. Dank der Digitalen Kamera konnte ich mich an die optimale Einstellung/Kombination aus Blendenöffnung und Verschlusszeit herantasten; bis der Nachbar wegen dem Blitzgewitter das Licht in seiner Wohnung einschaltete und den ganzen Spass somit beendete. In der Zwischenzeit hat sich das Wetter verschlechtert und der Baum ist verblüht. Im nächsten Frühling werde ich weiterfahren. Ein grosser Vorteil gegenüber den Dampflokomotiven die gibt es nicht mehr.

Blühender Kirschbaum bei Nacht - blooming cherry tree by night

Flowering trees are beautiful. However, photographing flowering trees often disturbs the environment. An interesting solution is the night view. I came to this idea when I came across the pictures of the industrial photographer O. Winston Link. His night shots of steam locomotives are legendary. By means of flashing lights he lighted these smoking monsters in full speed. In place of flashes (I know them only in miniature version of the Kodak InstamaticCamera) I used flash units. For the cameras (Digital EOS 5D as well as the analogue Konica T3), the shutter was set to B, the aperture to 11 and the sensitivity to ISO 100. As a flash, I used a Mecablitz 45 CL-4 (manual, full power). After the shutter of the camera was opened, I flashed the blossoming cherry tree from below. Thanks to the digital camera I was able to approach the optimal setting/combination of aperture aperture and shutter speed; Until the neighbor switched on the light in his apartment; this ended all the fun. Meanwhile, the weather has deteriorated and the tree has faded. Next spring I will continue. A big advantage compared to the steam locomotives they do not exist anymore.
