Schynige Platte

Die Schynige Platte-Bahn (SPB) wird als historische Zahnradbahn geführt und befördert seit dem Jahr 1893 Gäste aus dem In- und Ausland von Wilderswil auf die Schynige Platte. Sie gehört zu den Berner Oberland-BahnenAG (BOB). Von Wilderswil fährt die SPB hoch zur Schynige Platte auf 1’967 Meter über Meer. Die technische Grundkonzeption der historischen Zahnradbahn entspricht noch immer dem Stand aus der Zeit des Ersten Weltkriegs. Die Bahn verkehrt normalerweise von Ende Mai bis Ende Oktober und wartet mit einem nostalgischen Bergerlebnis vor alpinem Panorama auf (Quelle: Geschäftsbericht 2020 der Berner Oberland Bahnen AG).

The Schynige Platte-Bahn (SPB) is a historic cogwheel railroad and has been transporting guests from Switzerland and abroad from Wilderswil to the Schynige Platte since 1893. It belongs to the Berner Oberland-Bahnen AG (BOB). From Wilderswil, the SPB travels up to Schynige Platte at 1,967 meters above sea level. The basic technical design of the historic cogwheel railroad is still the same as it was during the First World War. The railroad normally operates from the end of May to the end of October and offers a nostalgic mountain experience in front of an alpine panorama (source: Annual Report 2020 of Berner Oberland Bahnen AG).
