Saisonschluss / End of the season

Das Strandbad Thun beendet seine Saison. Eigentlich nichts Besonderes würde der geneigte Leser sagen. Es sei denn, die Besucher kennen dieses Freibad seit Jahrzehnten, welches für die Stadt/Region Thun eine echte Institution darstellt. So ist der Saisonschluss eher eine Zeremonie, als eben ein Saisonschluss. So verabschiedet Mann/Frau sich vom Personal und den bekannten Badegästen, mit dem Wunsch «bis im Frühling im kommenden Jahr».

Thun lido is closing for the season. Nothing really special, the gentle reader would say. Unless, that is, the visitors have known this outdoor pool for decades, which is a real institution for the city/region of Thun. So the end of the season is more of a ceremony than just the end of the season. This is how you say goodbye to the staff and the familiar bathers, with the wish ‘see you in spring next year’.
