Gestern war ich auf einem Kurzbesuch in Bern. Bei schönem Wetter machte ich einen kurzen Rundgang (mit meiner Kamera) durch die Stadt. Etwas, das ich seit langem nicht mehr gemacht habe.

Yesterday, I made a short visit to Bern. The weather was nice, so I took a quick tour (with my camera) around the city. It was something I hadn't done in a long time.

Hier, j'ai fait une petite visite à Berne. Il faisait beau, je me suis donc promené (avec mon appareil photo) dans la ville. Cela faisait longtemps que je n'avais pas fait cela.

Dieses Haus beteiligte sich am Samstag, den 11. Oktober 2025 an der nicht bewilligten Palästina-Demo in Bern und provozierte somit diverse Elemente die sich unter den Demonstranten befanden. Leider befand sich diverses brennbares Material beim Gebäude, welches unerklärlichen Gründen Feuer fing und die Mitarbeitenden des in diesem Haus sich befindenden Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen am Verlassen hinderte. Erstaunlich nicht? - Ironie off

On Saturday, 11 October 2025, this building took part in the unauthorised Palestine demonstration in Bern, and thus provoked various elements among the demonstrators. Unfortunately, there was various flammable material near the building, which caught fire for unexplained reasons and prevented the employees working in this building from leaving. Surprising, isn't it? - Irony off

Le samedi 11 octobre 2025, cette maison a participé à la manifestation non autorisée en faveur de la Palestine à Berne, provoquant ainsi divers éléments parmi les manifestants. Malheureusement, divers matériaux inflammables se trouvaient près du bâtiment, qui ont pris feu pour des raisons inexplicables, empêchant les employés qui se trouvaient dans cette maison de la quitter. Winterlager / Winter lay-berth / Hivernage

Die Tage werden kürzer und die Temperaturen sinken. Der erste Herbststurm der Saison (mit dem Namen «Benjamin») ist bereits auf der Alpennordseite durchgezogen. In den Bergen ist Schnee gefallen.

Es ist nun an der Zeit, mein Segelboot zur Firma Hächler ins Winterlager nach Einigen zu überführen. Die Fahrt von meinem Bootsplatz im Lachen Kanal in Thun dauert zwischen einem halben und dreiviertel Stunden. Mit (Elektro-) Motorkraft. Die Segel sind bereits bei mir zuhause, wo diese auf etwelche Schäden überprüft und falls notwendig durch den Segelmacher repariert werden.

Die diesjährige Überführung verlief problemlos. Es hatte wenig Wind, nahezu keine Wellen und die Temperaturen waren angenehm. Somit kam ich früher als geplant am Schwimmsteg in Einigen an, wo das Team der Firma Hächler mit diversen Arbeiten beschäftig waren. Nach dem Anlegen und dem Festmachen am Steg, diskutierten wir anstehend Arbeiten für den Winter bzw. den Frühling. Ja und dann war die Saison 2025 beendet. Am 24. April 2026 ist der Start in die Saison 2026 geplant. Hoffen wir das Beste.

The days are getting shorter and temperatures are dropping. The first autumn storm of the season (named “Benjamin”) has already swept across the northern side of the Alps. Snow has fallen in the mountains.

It is now time to transfer my sailboat to the Hächler company for winter storage in Einigen. The trip from my boat mooring in the Lachen Canal in Thun takes between half an hour and 45 minutes. With (electric) motor power. The sails are already at my home, where they will be checked for damage and repaired by the sailmaker if necessary.

This year's transfer went smoothly. There was little wind, almost no waves, and the temperatures were pleasant. This meant I arrived at the floating dock in Einigen earlier than planned, where the Hächler team was busy with various tasks. After docking and mooring at the jetty, we discussed the work that needed to be done for the winter and spring. And then the 2025 season was over. The start of the 2026 season is planned for April 24, 2026. Let's hope for the best.

Les jours raccourcissent et les températures baissent. La première tempête automnale de la saison (baptisée « Benjamin ») a déjà balayé le versant nord des Alpes. La neige est tombée dans les montagnes.

Il est maintenant temps de transférer mon voilier à la société Hächler pour son stockage hivernal à Einigen. Le trajet depuis mon emplacement dans le canal de Lachen à Thoune dure entre une demi-heure et trois quarts d'heure. Avec un moteur (électrique). Les voiles sont déjà chez moi, où elles sont inspectées pour détecter d'éventuels dommages et, si nécessaire, réparées par le voilier.

Le transfert s'est déroulé sans problème cette année. Il y avait peu de vent, presque pas de vagues et les températures étaient agréables. Je suis donc arrivé plus tôt que prévu au ponton flottant d'Einigen, où l'équipe de la société Hächler était occupée à divers travaux. Après avoir accosté et amarré au ponton, nous avons discuté des travaux à effectuer pour l'hiver et le printemps. Et voilà, la saison 2025 était terminée. Le début de la saison 2026 est prévu pour le 24 avril 2026. Espérons que tout se passera pour le mieux.

Die Sanierung der Kornhausbrücke war im September von diesem Jahr bereits ein Thema in diesem Blog. Die Sanierungsarbeiten kommen voran und sollen bis Ende November von diesem Jahr abgeschlossen sein. Beim Besuch des Stadttheaters bot sich dieser Ausblick auf die Baustelle. Eindrücklich nicht?

 

The renovation of the Kornhausbrücke bridge was already a topic on this blog in September of this year. The renovation work is progressing and should be completed by the end of November this year. This view of the construction site was taken during a visit to the municipal theatre. Impressive, isn't it?

Ohne Farbe geht es diesmal nicht. Ganz und gar nicht! Dieses Restaurant ist farbig und wie! Bezogen auf die Speisekarte und den darin sich befindenden Kunstwerke. Wer kann, sollte unbedingt einen (nicht zu kurzen) Zwischenhalt einlegen. Es lohnt sich. Nicht nur kulinarisch!

Cette fois-ci, impossible de faire sans couleur. Absolument pas ! Ce restaurant est haut en couleur, et comment ! Que ce soit au niveau de la carte ou des œuvres d'art qui s'y trouvent. Si vous en avez la possibilité, faites-y absolument une halte (pas trop courte). Cela en vaut la peine. Et pas seulement sur le plan culinaire !

Eine Wetterlage, die man im Herbst öfters antrifft. Diejenige, die die Möglichkeit haben, versuchen dem Hochnebel ein «Schnippchen» zu schlagen in dem sie höhere Lagen aufsuchen. Diejenige die diese Möglichkeit nicht haben, müssen sich den Gegebenheiten anpassen und das Beste daraus machen.

Wie auch diese Segler die an der «Herbstpreis Regatta» des Thunersee Yacht Clubs vom 11./12. Oktober auf dem Thunersee teilnahmen. Hier zwei Bilder von einer spannenden Wettfahrt, aufgenommen bei der Luv-Boje.

 

A weather condition that is often encountered in autumn. Those who have the opportunity try to ‘cheat’ the high fog by seeking higher altitudes. Those who do not have this opportunity must adapt to the circumstances and make the best of them.

Une situation météorologique fréquente en automne. Ceux qui en ont la possibilité tentent de « déjouer » le brouillard élevé en se rendant à des altitudes plus élevées. Ceux qui n'en ont pas la possibilité doivent s'adapter aux circonstances et en tirer le meilleur parti.

C'est le cas des navigateurs qui ont participé à la « Herbstpreis Regatta » (régate d'automne) du Thunersee Yacht Club les 11 et 12 octobre sur le lac de Thoune. Voici deux photos d'une course passionnante, prises au niveau de la bouée au vent.
