Murten Licht-Festival 2019

Ich habe soeben festgestellt, dass Licht-Festivals “en vogue” sind. Und nun will jeder Veranstalter der erste gewesen sein. Schön nicht? Offenbar besteht ein Bedürfnis für solche Anlässe (Bericht der NZZ Link). Schon am ersten Tag (16.01.2019) war das Festival in der Stadt Murten sehr gut besucht. Trotz der Saukälte und der Bise! Wieder einmal mehr musste ich feststellen, dass elektronische Geräte bzw. deren Akkus sehr empfindlich auf Kälte reagieren. Es braucht erstaunlich wenig und schon machen Digitale Kameras bzw. Smart Phones schlapp. Da gelobe ich mir die alten analogen, voll mechanischen Kameras. Denen macht die Kälte weniger aus. Und wenn es dann hart auf hart geht, so kann Mann/Frau die Kamera mit geeignetem Schmierstoff „umrüsten“ lassen (während meiner Militärzeit sagte man dem „Winterschmierung“). Somit wäre das Problem gelöst, ja wenn das Filmmaterial empfindlicher wäre. Aber da haben digital Kameras klar einen grossen Vorteil. Ein Empfindlichkeit von 1600 oder 3200 ISO ist heute kein Problem merh. Im High End Bereich sind Werte bis ISO 51200  oder mehr möglich.  Somit halt doch besser geeignet für Aufnahmen in der Nacht oder bei Dämmerung.

Despite the cold and the north wind! Once again I had to notice that electronic devices and their batteries are very sensitive to cold. It needs surprisingly little and digital cameras and smart phones are already making a fuss. I promise myself the old analog, fully mechanical cameras. They are less affected by the cold. And when the going gets tough, man/woman can have the camera "retrofitted" with a suitable lubricant (during my time in the military the term "winter lubrication" was used). Thus the problem would be solved, yes if the film material would be more sensitive. But digital cameras have a big advantage. A sensitivity of 1600 or 3200 ISO is no problem today. In the high-end range, values up to ISO 51200 or more are possible.  Therefore it is better suited for recordings in the night or at twilight.
