Recently I visited the Municipal Theatre of Berne now calls “Konzert Theater Bern”. The building erected in 1903 will now be renovated. For me this was the last visit in the old building. I am curious how it will look like after the renovation.
The program consisted of "Romeo and Juliet". The visitors were reminded that taking pictures or making movies was not allowed during the demonstration. For the existing light conditions this is (almost) impossible. Ok new cameras have a sensitivity of up to ISO 25,000. But that costs money. So I had no other choice to take pictures from the artists in the foyer...

Architecture can be beautiful/ugly, practical/unusable impressive/ridiculous. Moreover you can discuss as long as you want. In English-speaking countries: "rat hole discussion". Recently I noticed at this building how small things can change the overall impression of a building. A "small" troublemaker has sabotaged the architecture...

Ein Bild sagt mehr als tausend Worte…

This is a German proverb that means „A picture is worth a thousand words”.  Below you see an image (black and white) with a tremendous amount of information about, guess what, my left knee. However the information I see is not that much. Only my surgeon saw a lot of useful information about my knee. The result is: Actually I am in a hospital where I’ve got a partial, artificial replacement of my left knee. Up to now all went well. And I am quite optimistic.

My surgeon explained me what kind of information he got from this picture (well it is a bunch of pictures from a so called Magnetic Resonance Imaging) I was/am quite surprised. And my conclusion is: When I take a photographic picture this on only on part of the story. The other one is, what sees the beholder? Is he able to decode the information that is contained in a picture?
